I'll be in Chicago this weekend (April 13-15) for the C2E2 Comic Convention. I have a table in Artist Alley (J-4) where I'll be shaking hands and selling my wares. I also have a couple signings at the Marvel booth and will be on the:

NYT Best Seller

X-Men Season One debut on the New York Times Best Sellers list this week. I don't know what that means in terms of hard numbers but it sounds pretty exciting. Very happy to hear the book is selling. This sort of thing helps keep me employed.

Big THANKS to all the retailers who ordered the book and to everyone who went out and picked up a copy. We really appreciate it.

Buy X-Men Season One on Wednesday

X-Men Season One will be in comic shops on Wednesday. It's an updated retelling of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's first few X-Men stories. It's also the fulfillment of my childhood dream to write an X-Men book. Jamie, Mike and Matt outdid themselves on the art. This thing is beautiful. I really think you'll dig it.

So do me a favor, head out and buy a copy.

I've been out of town more than in lately, so please excuse my internet absence. While I was gone, this happened:

The response has been fantastic. So many great reviews and messages from folks telling me they dig the book. My very first Marvel book has been a great experience thus far. Let's keep that going.

X-Men Cover

Marvel released all of the Season One OGN covers on Friday, so I thought I'd show off the X-Men cover. I honestly don't know who painted these but think they're great. The line will have a really distinctive and cohesive look.

For those who don't want to read their granddaddy's old comics, Marvel is launching a Season One line of original graphic novels — the publisher's first — next year to honor the company's 50th anniversary. The hardcover books star a new, young generation of today's comic creators bringing a modern voice and sensibility to tales of classic Marvel heroes and teams.

The first wave of four graphic novels will include:

•Fantastic Four: Season One by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Stephen King's The Stand, Glee) and David Marquez (Secret Warriors), due out in February;

•X-Men: Season One by Dennis Hopeless (Legion Of Monsters) and Jamie McKelvie (Phonogram), on sale in March;

•Daredevil: Season One by Antony Johnston (Daredevil) and Wellinton Alves (Nova), in April;

•Spider-Man: Season One by Cullen Bunn (Fear Itself: The Deep, Sixth Gun) and Neil Edwards (Fantastic Four), arriving in May.

I didn't know it was being announced today so I don't know how much I can talk about yet. But I already love writing this book and I can't believe Jamie McKelvie is drawing it. So fucking cool. More on this later, for sure.

My first Marvel cat is finally out of the bag.

So, yeah, I'm writing a Legion of Monsters series that starts in October. The incredible Juan Doe is drawing the thing and I couldn't be happier.
