Page ONE

Patric sent over the first page of art for the Tornado/Serial Killer book I'm co-writing with Phil. To steal a phrase from Tony Moore, "It's pretty great."

Patric has pencils for this page and the next 2 up on HIS BLOG. Check it.

Working

One of the shittiest things about being a comic writer (one of the very few shitty things) is the waiting. Just because I've written a script doesn't mean a book will be out anytime soon. Mine is the first and fastest stage of the process.

The conclusion: Just because I haven't had a book out in 7 months doesn't mean I haven't been busy. As of today I have 4 series and one OGN with at least one script in the can. That list will only get longer.

So, while I wait, here's a very brief Hopeless preview.

HOPELESS MELLON JOINTS

CUPID

This one is coming along. It will probably be the first of these to hit the shelves.

Think Dead Like Me if you replace DEATH with LOVE. It's a book about a woman who has given up on love being handed the power to control it.

Kevin pimps the art pretty effectively, so I'll just hit you with my favorite character, Laynie:

HAMMER CLUB

This one is far enough off that all you get is one thousand words:

SATAN & EVE

We're not sure the status of this one but I think I finally worked out the plot kinks. Basically, Satan and Eve fell in love in the Garden of Eden. Hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later:

EVERYTHING ELSE

BIG TORNADO IN LITTLE HESTER

I'm co-writing this book with Phil Hester. It's sort of like an Ashley Judd thriller involving Tornadoes, Hurricanes and a serial killer. I'm learning a lot from Phil and having a good time doing it.

The artist on the book is Patric Reynolds and from what I've seen, that is a very good thing.

Early character sketches:

SAFE HOUSE

This is an action book I'm putting together with Aaron Gillespie.

I don't have artwork to show just yet but will put it up as soon as I get it.

AVIATRIX

My friend Dave Bryant asked me to take a crack at his Aviatrix character.

I'm about 25 pages in and having a blast with the open, manga-style storytelling. Kevin will be helping us out with breakdowns on this book.

Some of Dave's older Aviatrix work:

Back to work.
